Apple fans will be getting some tasty treats in the first half of 2013. The Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to release three high-profile devices in the United States before summer kicks off - the iPhone 5S, the iPad 5, and the iPad mini 2.
The iPhone 5S should be the first iPhone to be offered in a variety of colors, as many as six to eight, and the first iPhone with NFC. Analysts also expect it to have a Full HD display and improved camera features.
According to Jeffries analyst Peter Misek, iPhone 5S production will begin in in a couple months, and be released soon after.
"Our checks indicate that preliminary builds for the iPhone 5S will start in March for a launch in June/July," Misek wrote in a report.
The next iPad, the iPad 5, and the iPad mini 2 are both currently tipped off for a March 2013 release date, according to Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White.
"Our checks at CES indicate Apple will release the iPad 5 and the second-generation iPad mini this March," White said.
The iPad 5 should be thinner and lighter than the iPad 4, which many believe will be because it will utilize more design elements from the iPad mini for a more sleek look. The iPad mini 2, meanwhile, should have Apple's Retina display - a feature the original iPad mini lacked. Cellular models of both tablets is a given.
The iPhone 5S, iPad 5, and iPad mini 2 should all help launch iOS 7, and will all most likely replace their predecessors at their price points, keeping Apple's pricing structure intact.
