While most of the Android update news has been focused on upgrading devices with Android 4.0 or lower up to Android 4.1, Samsung is still showing some love for those already with Jelly Bean. It looks like Canadian Galaxy Note 2 owners can expect Android 4.1.2 with Premium Suite to roll out over the coming weeks.

"The OS update (Android 4.1.2) gives customers the ability to personalize and customize their smartphone experience and interact with two apps at the same time. Samsung Canada now allows GALAXY Note II customers to change app positions within the Multi Window in addition to having the capability of using Pop Up Video while using Multi Window," Samsung Canada said.

"Also, included in this software update is the inclusion of both simplified and traditional Chinese language support. Easily accessible from the device's settings menu, the software can change the language for most menus and applications and also support handwriting of Chinese characters to be transposed into text."

While Android 4.1.2 only offers incremental improvements to the Galaxy Note 2's Jelly interface, it's the Premium Suite upgrade package that Canadian Galaxy Note 2 owners should be excited about. Premium Suite gives the Galaxy Note 2 a host of new features, including improved camera functions, a slightly more robust S Pen experience, and Multi-Window, which allows two apps to run simultaneously on screen at the same time. This means you can browse your email while watch a YouTube video on the top half - and given the massive 5.55-inch display, this works quite well.

The exact release date hasn't been given, and as usual, the update will vary across networks and regions. Android updates tend to be released in batches, so be vigilant, and it shouldn't be too long before you snatch Android 4.1.2 with Premium Suite off the air.
