Like usual, people are already anticipating Apple's next iPhone, the iPhone 5, and according to rumors, it may even hit stores as soon as fall or even summer of this year.
Rumors circling the internet say that production has already begun and according to Wall Street Journal, Apple has already ordered 4-inch retina displays from suppliers like Sharp and LG.
If true, then the iPhone will be getting a very apparent upgrade since it using the same 3.5 inch display in the iPhone 4 and for 4s, with the former dating back to April of 2011.
If true, then Apple must have a very good reason to be conservative about display sizes since its rival, Samsung, will be releasing 4.8-inch-Galaxy-SIII phones soon and the Cupertino company may be in a position of losing smartphone market share to Samsung.
If Apple wishes to wow its loyal base of consumers, then the company should at least produce something close to Samsung's 4.8-inch Galaxy, or have a very good reason to keep it at flat 4.
Some other rumors say that Apple is indeed producing something larger than a 4-inch display. In March, Reuters published a report citing a Korean newspaper saying that Apple had ordered not 4 inch, but 4.6 inch displays from suppliers.
It is not clear at this point what the exact dimension of the iPhone 5 will be, but Apple in the end, is most likely increasing the size of its flagship smartphone.
According to the WSJ, the 4-inch retina display would have a 720 HD resolution.
Other features that might be found in the iPhone 5 may be the following:
iOS 6
Although not confirmed, Apple is expected to unveil the next version of its mobile operating system at this year's WWDC. The new iOS is expected to have its own picture sharing application, much like Instagram, and also sport Apple's new 3D mapping service (say goodbye to Google Maps iPhone users)
4G LTE
Much like the New iPad, the iPhone 5 should possess 4G LTE connectivity. DigiTimes, known for accurately predicting iPhone features, cited anonymous sources saying that the iPhone would "very likely" contain 4G LTE.
Other rumors:
MobilenApps is reporting that SIRI will get an update, this time moving past its beta version. Also, quad-core A6 processor may be on the way, a rumor that has highly been circulated in across the blogosphere.
