Diablo III sold 6.3 million copies the first week. Meaning, everyone is talking about Diablo III in the PC-game universe and because of the word-of-mouth, everyone goes to buy it as a result.
Actually, the game sold more than half of all its 6.3 million copies the first 24 hours and crowned itself the fastest selling PC-game in history.
According to WallStreetLiveChat, the game has captured 39 percent share of all the games played across Korean internet cafes (a big thing in the pro-gaming haven-nation).
The Latinos Post asked dozens of Diablo III players what they thought was the best part of the game. While frequent answers were 'the story', 'graphics', or 'user friendliness', most regarded the looting as most gratifying.
Blizzard has ingeniously established a looting system that gets players hooked on searching for better items ambitiously and continuously.
Mike Morhaime, Blizzard founder and CEO, commented on the Diablo III success:
"Regarding today's announcement, we recognize that setting a new launch record is a big achievement. However, we're especially proud of the gameplay feedback we've received from players worldwide. We're pleased that Diablo III has lived up to players' high expectations, and we're looking forward to welcoming more players into Sanctuary in the days ahead."
Diablo III took 12 years to develop and finally be available for purchase. Diablo II was released in the year 2000, and it too was a hit game.
