The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 is underway and filled with events on an array of tech topics, and Samsung make some debuts.
Samsung's attendance at the CES is confirmed, but it is what they'll be presenting that is still up in the air.
The CES, owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), has been the place to debut new products that has since changed the electronics industry such as the videocassette recorder (VCR) in 1920, the compact disc player in 1981, the original Xbox in 2001, Blu-Ray DVD in 2003, 3D HDTV in 2009, and the Android Honeycomb in 2011, among many more.
Although nothing has been confirmed, it has been widely speculated that Samsung will showcase a "true innovative" television design, according to SamsungVillage.
An advertisement did premiere a couple weeks before the scheduled press conference:
Speculation has been strife on the SamsungTomorrow site:
Noah P. Argos: "The TV is so thin that it doubles as a framed picture on your wall when it's not in use. To turn it on, turn it horizontal. THERE...I spilled the beans! so shoot me!"
nsk97: "I'm guessing the TV will have wallpapers to make it look like a picture frame when the TV is off."
Vincent: "A TV frame like a Window with clear deep? Are we talking about glasses-less 3D?"
HDTVNews: "My guess is also transparent. They have named the image "Frame TV". I'm wondering if this is a clue?"
Another round of speculation included the next line of the Galaxy series but it is unlikely the next smartphone or "phablet" will launch in Las Vegas today.
The press conference is scheduled for 5 p.m. EST. Latinos Post will have up to date coverage, stay tuned.
