Although the iPhone 5 continues to be a best seller and help Apple bridge the gap between itself and Samsung, many of us can't help but wonder what Apple's next cellular offering will look like. While nothing official has come out of Cupertino, the good news is that we shouldn't have to wait past June to see the next iPhone if one analyst is correct.

In a recently released report, Topeka Capital Markets analyst Brian White stated that the next iPhone (the iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S) will release near the beginning of summer and come in more variants than any previous iPhone launch.

"Our checks indicate that the next iPhone will have more choices for customers. This entails an expansion in both the color patterns and screen sizes with the next iPhone (i.e., likely called the iPhone 5S) that we currently believe will be launched in May/June with certain supply production starting in March/April," White stated.

A May/June launch time frame lines up with reports that Apple is looking to move to a shorter production cycle for the iPhone in order to release more versions. With more product launches, Apple will hope to curb the aggressive push companies like Samsung and Google have made into its previously-invincible mobile territory.

According to the rumors currently circulating, the iPhone 6 will feature an HD display/camera, NFC support, and a more powerful processor running iOS 7. The next iPhone is also expected to integrate more seamlessly with Mac OS X, leading to more interconnectivity between Apple's mobile and desktop lineups. Analysts believe the iPhone 6 will come in at least two sizes and in 6-8 different colors.

What do you think about Apple releasing iPhones sooner rather than later? Should consumers be given more time to grab a cutting edge device?
