Just a few days before CES 2013 kicks off, a fresh crop of rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S4 has popped up, including the first supposed picture of the handset. The Galaxy S4 is also now expected to be shown off to exclusive Samsung partners at CES, and apparently won't release before May 2013.
The picture above, sent to website SamMobile from a Samsung insider, is by no means official, but looks like it could be the real thing. We're no Photoshop experts, but the design seems to be in line with the Galaxy S series and SamMobile states they believe the picture isn't fake. The picture reveals that the home screen button is a thing of the past, the display will be larger, and that the Galaxy S4's bezel will be thinner.
While most of us will have to wait to see whether this is the real Galaxy S4, a select few individuals will get a sneak peak at CES 2013, according to reports. Apparently Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jay Lee will be showcasing an early version of the handset to carriers and other high-profile partners. Let's just hope one of them decides to conveniently leak some juicy details on what will undoubtedly be one of 2013's hottest consumer electronics devices.
Last, but not least, the bad news. Samsung Lebanon posted that consumers should not expect the Galaxy S4 to release before May. While Samsung Facebook pages aren't always 100 percent accurate, the time frame does indicate that Samsung probably isn't interested at unveiling its next flagship phone at conventions such as CES and MWC, which take place in January and February respectively, and will instead hold its own pre-summer launch event. Last year's Galaxy S3 launched around May, and Samsung may be looking to do the same with the Galaxy S4.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumored to feature a 5-inch 1080p HD display, a 2GHz Exynos 5450 quad-core processor, and 2GB RAM. The handset is also expected to ship with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and Android 4.2.1.
