No official details about the iPhone 6 have been released, but as always the rumor mill continues to breathlessly churn out new concepts for the upcoming device. The latest news hints at a new "curved display," according to Wired. The Cupertino-based company has reportedly patented a new method of molding glass known as 'slumping.'
Past reports indicated that the next-generation iPhone will feature a 4.8-inch screen with a Retina+ IGZO display and an A7 quad-core processor. Aesthetically, Apple may remove the home button in favor of full gesture control.
When the iPhone 6 launches sometime in 2013, it will have to face off against Samsung's flagship smartphone once again, the Galaxy S4. The S4 is expected to land on store shelves in mid-2013 with 5-inch display, 1080p resolution, 2GB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 13-megapixel front camera.
The current iPhone 5 model is feather light and sports the new A6 dual-core processor, with a 4-inch screen with Retina display. Consumers who opt for a two-year contract with Sprint, AT&T, or Verizon have the option of a 16GB iPhone 5 at $199, a 32GB at $299.99, and a 64GB at $399.99. Unlocked phones sans-contract cost $649, 749, and $849 for each respective size
