Samsung legitimately ate into Apple's mobile market share in 2012, and the competition should only heat up in 2013. Both companies will be releasing new flagship smartphones in 2013, and if you're wondering how that battle might play out, here's what the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S4 could look like based on current rumors.
The next iPhone, the iPhone 6 (or the iPhone 5S depending on how you want to look at it), should be releasing before the summer of 2013. Reports indicate Apple is looking to switch over to a six-month production cycle, so the next iPhone could hit shelves around March or April 2013.
According to analyst Peter Misek, the iPhone 6 will reportedly have a crisper HD camera and screen. The iPhone 6 could also be the first iPhone to come in more than two colors, allegedly slated to release in up to 8 different colors. The iPhone 6 is also rumored to have NFC support and storage capacities up to 128GB.
Samsung's Galaxy S4 will be coming with a 5-inch 1080p display and a 13-megapixel camera. Initially, it was thought the Galaxy S4 could come with a flexible, unbreakable display, but chances of that happening are slim. Some reports even claim that the Galaxy S4 could utilize two quad-core processors for a total of eight cores.
The smartphone should be making its first appearance sometime around April, and release near the beginning of summer, just like the Galaxy S3 did.
None of these details have been confirmed by either Apple or Samsung, and most of the information comes from unnamed insiders. Still, what do you think of how Apple vs. Samsung will play out in 2013?
