The last of the major national carriers in the United has finally updated its respective Galaxy S3 up to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Beginning today, Dec. 21, Galaxy S3 owners on U.S. Cellular's network can download their Jelly Bean update.

U.S. Cellular confirmed the Jelly Bean release through Facebook

"It's here! The Jelly Bean update is now available for the Samsung Galaxy S III. Get awesome new features like updated customizations for your home screen, a more intuitive interface, and an enhanced photo experience," U.S. Cellular posted.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will also give U.S. Cellular Galaxy S3 users access to Google Now, a Siri-esque voice assistant. Jelly Bean's Project Butter will improve frame rates and optimize the handset's performance to deliver a more fluid interface experience.

If one has a Google account and Wi-Fi connection, the update can be download through Settings> About Device > Software Update. Otherwise, the update can be grabbed online here, through Samsung's KIES software, or at a tech center at a U.S. Cellular store.

U.S. Cellular becomes the fifth carrier in the United States to have released Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S3, which launched with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon all pushed out their updates earlier.
