This kid is a genius!

A 12-year-old boy from the Dominican Republic has found a way to make the most out of what he has. Simply with the use of cardboard boxes, the boy was able to make robotic toys.

Jasuel Rivera is a boy with a family who cannot afford to buy him the toys that he wants to play with, so he decided to use his own resources to make these toys.

At first, Jasuel's grandmother thought he was simply making a mess collecting every cardboard box that he can find, and just like any other abuela, she asked what he plans to do with the "ese reguero."

Jasuel's abuela eventually found out that her grandchild had a bigger plan for the cardboard boxes. Little by little, young Jasuel was building his own robotic playthings powered by stuff such as syringes.

According to Zona5, via Remezcla, Jasuel thought of using the Internet to research on how he could create his own toys since his family can't afford to buy him any.

"I didn't have money to buy one, but I saw one like this on the Internet, so I made my own," Jasuel explained.

"I liked it, so I kept on doing it," he added.

Check out what Jasuel and his abuela had to say in a report below.

Since the day he started making his own toys, Jasuel has built 12 contraptions, one of which is a semi-truck trailer. Other creations made by the 12-year-old boy genius from the Domincan Republic include equipment used at a construction site. Every creation of Jasuel's is made of recycled materials, so nothing is put to waste.

Apparently, Jasuel's inspiration is mathematician Blaise Pascal, whose law on fluid mechanics he has used for his creations. Upon learning Pascal's law, Jasuel got the idea of using different liquids to fuel his toys. Turns out, water, he said, is the best liquid that powers his toys.

Maybe one day Jasuel can create water-fueled cars.

It's not the first time that a 12-year-old robot-building genius made the headlines.

As reported by Mashable in 2013, a 12-year-old boy named Rohan Agrawal made news after he took an internship at Sunnyvale-based company OLogic. The California company has been known to design robots for Google and Disney, and after spending the summer there, Agrawal has helped the company create robots from scratch.

Check out Agrawal doing what he does best at OLogic.
