It is indeed a happy new year for "Final Fantasy" fans and gamers.
In a post at Square Enix Blog, Game Director Hajime Tabata announced that the long-awaited "Final Fantasy XV" will be released this 2016 with the game already in its final stage of development.
"In development, previous phases required wisdom and strength. However, moving forward the final phase will focus on effort and willpower," Tabata shared in the post.
The game director also cited that they are doing everything to finish the game and deliver an experience which they will be proud of, and which gamers will enjoy and treasure.
"I vow to you all that every member in the team will do their best to the very last possible moment taking responsibility and pride in their craft," Tabata added in the post.
Tabata also expressed his gratitude for the fans who patiently waited for the game since it was announced way back in 2006.
According to the report by Game Rant, the 2016 release of the game was expected since it was reported over a month ago that "Final Fantasy XV" was already playable from start to finish in the game's development studio.
However, the gaming news outlet pointed that there are still doubts if the game can deliver on its promise specially with the fact that both the "Final Fantasy XIV" and "Final Fantasy XIII" did not live up to what was expected from them.
A specific release date for the game was not mentioned in the post. Nonetheless, Game Rant emphasized a previous announcement by the video game developer and publisher, Square Enix, which mentioned that the game's release date will be announced on March.
More information about the game including new battle footage as well as details about the Niflheim Empire will come this January 2016 with the return of the Active Time Report.
"Final Fantasy XV," which was previously titled "Final Fantasy Versus XIII," is an action role-playing video game where players will take on the role of Noctis Lucis Caelum, heir to the Lucian throne. The game will take place in a fantasy-inspired world where Prince Noctis will have to retrieve his kingdom's crystals to save it from the enemy's powers.
The game will be playable in PlayStation 4 and Xbox One when released.
