The LG G5 could be priming itself up for a big and possibly early release, though all that remains to be seen.
Rumors about the next LG device pitch seeing the handset coming in an all-metallic build, as mentioned in a previous post. The changes were reportedly based on the success the LG V10 had when it launched earlier this year.
Now all that aside, here are other rumored specs tied up to the LG G5:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset
- 3 GB of RAM
- 32 GB of Internal Storage
- Adreno 530 GPU
- Eye-scanning technology
- 16 MP main camera with a large ½ sensor
But perhaps the most controversial of all rumors is that of its release date. The LG G5 is believed to arrive earlier than the Samsung Galaxy S7. Also, it may not necessarily follow that an advanced release would catapult it to the top of the smartphone standings.
Going back, we did mention about that premium feel that the LG G5 will likely come with thanks to the LG V10. Now seeing and feeling is one thing, but that may not be all that the next LG flagship will carry.
While it was mentioned in an earlier post that the LG G5 could be coming with a 5.6 inch display, a new rumor from Phandroid begs to differ.
Rather than an 5.6-inch display, rumors have it that the smartphone will sport a smaller 5.3-inch Quad HD display, but will have a secondary “ticker” display (160 x 640) that is again similar to what the LG V10 has. With that said, the secondary display stands to be the biggest change for the LG G5 if it does become official.
Aside from that, there is word as well that the handset could have a better and smaller removable 2,800 mAh battery. Now being a smaller one, folks will be curious to see how a smaller battery can fare particularly with multitasking users do with their phones nowadays.
Finally there is also a mysterious “Magic Slot” present that hints at possible hardware expansion, VentureBeat noted. It is believed that the slot will allow users to attach other hardware modules like 360-degree VR cameras, amplifiers or maybe even a physical keyboard.
Now that seems to be a whole lot of new rumors tied up to the LG G5. Regardless, most are keeping an eye for it by the first quarter of 2016.
