Google Maps has returned to iOS 6 users.
Google has launched and Apple has approved the latest update of Google Maps, which saw a release during the overnight hours last night.
As Latinos Post previously noted, Google Maps was a preinstalled app for Apple devices until the launch of the iOS 6 in September. Google Maps was replaced by Apple Maps, which was met with heavy criticism.

But what are reviewers and the consumers saying about Google Maps today?
The Telegraph's Shane Richmond reviewed the maps update stating it is well designed and runs smoothly with the swipe gestures.
Google's maps app lacks some of Apple's features, most notably the 3D flyover mode, but it makes up for that in reliability and comprehensive coverage," added Richmond. "It's essential for iPhone users."
TheNextWeb's John Ong headlined that you should install the new maps app "right now."
"Google Maps for iPhone comes with a new look from the Web and desktop versions. I haven't pinpointed exactly why it feels this way, but the iOS app feels softer," reviewed Ong. "Almost like the maps are friendly comics or drawings, rather than a complex navigational framework. I imagine the look will appeal to the average consumer, though tech-savvy folks may find the interface to be too stripped down simplistic."
He added the app is "extremely responsive" but believes there is still room for improvement.
Cult of Mac's Giles Turnbull noted Google Maps as "slick, speedy and, most importantly, a good deal more accurate than Apple's data. Thank goodness for that."
He added the app is a "definite improvement" and better than Apple Maps.
The return of Google Maps has led to the term to trend worldwide, with tweets such as:
