Images of the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus and Galaxy Grand Duos have leaked on to the Internet ahead of their 2013 release dates. The two upcoming Samsung smartphones have been spotted in the wild recently and should give Android smartphone buyers more options when they release in the coming months.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus is essentially a downgraded version of the Galaxy S2. While official specs have not been released, website SamMobile claims to have gotten insider information on what the Galaxy S2 Plus model GT-I9105 will be sporting when it does release.
Apparently, the Galaxy S2 Plus will keep the same 4.3-inch 480X800 screen. The processor has been downgraded to a 1GHz dual-core option, and the Galaxy S2 Plus should also come with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy S2 Plus will only be available in an 8GB model.
The Galaxy S2 Plus should release in Q1 2013, and when it does, it will come in two colors: Chic White and Dark Blue.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos (pictured above) will be a high-end version of Samsung's Duos smartphone lineup which allows for the utilization of two SIM cards. This handset will come with a 4.5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 480X800. The Galaxy Grand Duos will also have a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy Grand Duos will come in Elegant White and Metallic Blue and is also expected to release in Q1 2013.
Both the handsets above will be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher.
There is no pricing information for either handset as of now.
It looks like Samsung is trying to offer some niche variants, that will appeal to a specific type of consumer who isn't looking for the latest flagship device. Do the Galaxy S2 Plus or Galaxy Grand Duos have you excited?
