A new "Kingdom Hearts 3" footage from Japan's D23 Expo 2015 was recently leaked, and it revealed new characters including some from "Toy Story."

The D23 Expo Japan 2015 may have taken place a month ago, but the six-second "Kingdom Hearts 3" video is still a welcome reprieve to fans who clamor for the imminent release of the highly anticipated title.

The new "Kingdom Hearts 3" video features the game's characters Sora, Goofy and Donald riding the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, also nicknamed the Shooting Ride by fans.

As noted by Comicbook.com, the contraption in the new "Kingdom Hearts 3" video which the aforementioned characters are riding is similar to Epcot's Space Ranger Spin ride. The footage shows the group swirling into a loop, which is reportedly similar to the Attraction Flow technique.

Apart from that, Sora, Goofy and Donald are seen in the new "Kingdom Hearts 3" footage wearing spectacles where a first-person view of the scene is shown and they are seen firing at their enemies.

The short clip from D23 Expo Japan 2015 also features Mickey holding on to the key blade on stage. He shows it to the audience, who claps in return.

According to Christian Today, "Kingdom Hearts 3" rumors have surfaced before where the "Toy Story" world is speculated to be incorporated into the game. The reason is reportedly because "Toy Story" has the same color and elements as what game developer Square Enix wants, and they could easily merge the two worlds.

The much-awaited game is expected to center on the missing key blade masters, which were shown in ancient texts. This focal point could also reportedly tie in with Mickey and Riku's mission of searching for the item that will lead them out of the darkness.

Meanwhile, Movie Pilot reported that the "Kingdom Hearts 3" gameplay will be similar to "Kingdom Hearts X's," where new worlds are added. Sora has to explore these worlds which are described similar to the ones in "Wreck-It-Ralph" as well as "The Princess and the Frog."

While reports claim that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is much awaited by fans, Famitsu gamers have reportedly ranked the game, and it is not in the top 10 list anymore.

A "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date remains unknown, but according to The Oceanside Post, there have been reports claiming a 2016 release. There's also word that the game could be released as early as this month since Sqaure Enix is allegedly finalizing finishing touches already.

While the company has yet to release any official announcement, it pays to take a proverbial grain of salt in these "Kingdom Hearts 3" gameplay rumors.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" will be available on PS4 and Xbox One.
