A 15-day battery is certainly unheard of in the smartphones of today, but Chinese company Oukitel might just change the game as it promises its K10000 mobile to last just that - 15 days!
With higher specs such as faster processors and more RAM in most mobile phones nowadays, battery life is the one that suffers.
Oukitel reportedly vows its K10000 smartphone to last up to 10 to 15 days on just one charge. However, it doesn't come with cons as the new Android-powered Oukitel K10000 has already received criticisms from various tech media, according to Value Walk.
Almost ten times the size of Apple's iPhone 6s battery, the battery of the Oukitel K10000 is a powerful 10,000 mAh. On normal use, it can run from 10 to 15 days, The Telegraph reported.
When compared with other companies boasting of high battery life, such as the Sony Xperia Z5 which sports a 2,900 mAh battery, Oukitel's 10,000 mAh is unbelievably high.
However, its specs can be called somewhat mid-range when compared to flagship high-end mobiles offered by Apple, Samsung, Sony, HTC and several other known brands.
The Oukitel K10000 is only fitted with MediaTek's 1Ghz quad-core processor and is paired with 2GB of RAM. It is surprising though that the phone sports a large 5.5-inch display that weighs 184 grams, much less than the iPhone 6s Plus, but is still abnormally heavy.
However, the phone only comes in 720p resolution, certainly not one to impress smartphone users who are used to high-res screens offered by top-notch brands. The same can be said for Oukitel K10000 cameras which comes with an 8 MP rear main camera and 2 MP front one for selfies. By comparison the highest rear camera megapixel is offered by the Sony Xperia Z5, which has a 23 megapixel snapper.
The Oukitel K10000 also has 16 GB internal storage and microSD support, and is running on Android Lollipop.
The Oukitel K10000 is now available via pre-order. For interested buyers, online retailer Gear Best is now taking orders at the low and reasonable retail price of $239.99. The offer comes without a contract and the phone will be unlocked. The retailer will start shipping January 21, 2016.
As noted by iDigitalTimes, the Oukitel K10000 specs could be better, but they aren't all bad.
Clearly, the Oikitel K10000isn't for everyone, but for power users who don't watch many videos or play games constantly, the new smartphone might just be the perfect mobile for them.
