Huawei drew some flak when it failed to properly address the forecasted demand for the Google Nexus 6P recently though they were able to remedy such in time.
Despite that flaw, there is belief that Huawei could still get the call for yet another project in the rumored Google Nexus 7 tablet set to come out in 2016.
The rumors tying up Huawei to the next Google tablet was first brought out in the open by Android Headlines, claiming that the work on the said tablet is already underway and would be launched at Google’s I/O conference which will likely take place somewhere between June to August just like from previous years.
Aside from that rumored development, there is nothing much to work on aside from assuming that the device will likely sport a 7-inch screen and will of course run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow at the least.
This is subject to change of course in the event that a higher or new Android OS suddenly comes out in the open between now and that alleged launch date.
Huawei has of course gained prominence thanks to the Google Nexus 6P. Though there were setbacks as far as satisfying the order of consumers, the company was able to remedy it in time and avoid a backlash of sorts by replenishing stocks in the nick of time.
The previous Nexus 7 was manufactured by Asus way back in July of 2012. It was the company’s first Nexus tablet and the first one that Google sold with little to no profit at that. Regardless, it was one of the best selling Android tablets that came at a pretty affordable price.
On that note, it remains to be seen if Google will once again place in serious consideration the cost angle. Then again, there could be some price bumps along the way provided the specs for the said device are justifiable and truly worth the eventual SRP.
To their credit, Huawei is no stranger when it comes to delivering tablets. As mentioned via Phone Arena, their most recent one is the X2 which features a 7-inch screen display with 1200x1920 pixel resolution. Supporting the tablet was a Huawei Kirin 930 SoC that also had 2 or 3 GB of RAM.
For now, the continued partnership has yet to be made official though it does make a bit of sense if the Google Nexus 6P is to be considered.
Despite that failed forecasts, the fact remains that the device gained quite an interest and is obviously gaining more ground since it is a high-end device that folks can seriously consider getting in the market as we speak.
