The highly anticipated device from Vivo is finally out in the open after the company recently unveiled the Vivo X6, an all-metal body smartphone recently at a press conference held in Beijing.
The X6 is Vivo’s ticket to live up to the concept of delivering a faster processing device pegged to satisfy four fronts – stability, fluency, battery life and safety - as far as smartphone use is concerned as revealed through PRNewswire.
Like most smartphones coming out in the open these days, Vivo will be offering two variants of its X6. There will be the 5.2-inch version of the Vivo X6 and also a larger 5.7-inch version that will be known as the Vivo X6 Plus.
The Vivo X6 is backstopped by a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display and measures just 6.56 mm. It will rely on a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6752 1.7 GHz processor, 32 GB of internal storage (expandable through microSD), a 13 MP main camera and an 8 MP front-facing camera.
A basic 3000 mAh battery will be tasked to juice up the device. It will come loaded with the company’s own Funtouch OS over Android 5.1 Lollipop as well as some added perks that include fingerprint scanners found at the back.
Some features get a slight bump with the Vivo X6 Plus though. Aside from the larger screen, the X6 Plus has bigger internal storage at 64 GB, a bigger 3000 mAh battery which is perhaps why it is a bit thicker than the Vivo X6, measuring 6.85 mm.
Moreover, the Vivo X6 Plus will also offer some Hi-Fi sound experience anchored on the high-end ES9028 DAC audio chip (a first for mobile phones), an ES9603 amplifier, and a YAMAHA YSS-205X digital surround sound chip. It also makes use of a dedicated DAC, though of a slightly lower level - the Asahi Kaisei AK4375A model.
Both devices will come in Silver, Gold and Rose variants as detailed by NDTV. They are expected to be made available starting December 6.
As explained by Phone Arena, the dual-SIM version of the Vivo X6 will be priced starting at $390 while the basic X6 Plus starts at $469.
With regards to the X6 Plus phablet, potential buyers can opt for a bigger 4000 mAh battery though the price increase to $500 more or less. Though it remains to be seen how fast the battery drains up, adding $30 for good measure doesn’t seem like a bad idea just in case.
