A few days before the release of the highly anticipated "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege," video game developer Ubisoft gave a glimpse of what gamers can expect from the game with the launch trailer titled "The Breach."
Released by Ubisoft UK, the trailer showed an action-filled sequence backed by the iconic words of William Shakespeare's "Henry V" voiced by "Green Lantern" and "Kingsman: The Secret Service" actor Mark Strong.
Along with a classic orchestral soundtrack, the trailer features gameplay footages that show two groups entering in a battle, highlighting the use of various tactics to attack and defend. Along with this are the explosion and gunfights that were shown in a slow-paced tactical action.
As cited by Screen Rant, the launch trailer seems to highlight the game's promotion as a strategy-focused game instead of the typical action-heavy game which is primarily based on the player's agility and reflexes.
Moreover, the entertainment news outlet also emphasized that the slow pacing of the trailer suits the style of gameplay of the "Rainbow Six: Siege" which separates it among other titles in the same genre.
Nonetheless, according to Screen Rant, although it is differentiated, the game's design and mechanics are still the motivating factors that will determine if it will be able to encourage gamers to play it as a strategic and tactical first-person shooter game or end up just like the typical point and shoot games.
On the other hand, Tech Times reported that the game's open beta has already kicked off last Nov. 26, 2015 and will run until Nov. 29, 2015. The said open beta brings to gamers 14 new operators as well as three maps such as the Kanal Industrial Harbor, Hereford and House.
The previous beta testing of the game was held last March, July and September 2015, which Bungie cited to be a big help that enabled them to improve the game and bring it to this stage.
"Rainbow Six: Siege" is a first-person shooter game inspired by Tom Clancy's novel of the same title. The game features an international counter-terrorist group called "Rainbow."
The game will be released on Dec. 1, 2015 and will be playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. However, Latinos Post reported that the game will not be featuring a single-player campaign and will be focusing on online multiplayer gaming instead.
