The Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been aggressively on the move these days, but it seems that majority of the devices (if not all) are the mobile phones present in the market.
That of course varies with release date, with the newer ones expectedly getting an Android 6.0 Marshmallow push first and the rest to follow up to a certain year. How about the tablets that run on Android? Will there be one made for them?
Tablets haven’t really been the first ones to get an Android bump, and sadly, many of Samsung’s old tablets could be stuck with their old OS versions, such as the seemingly ancient OS – Android KitKat 4.4.
Seeing that tablets have somehow been pushed back from the Android 6.0 M rollout, there was one brave soul who owns a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro who dared ask Samsung UK if his tablet would at least get an Android 5.0 Lollipop update via GSM Arena.
The reply he got was far from comforting as it turns out that the tablet may never get an OS bump moving forward.
@JSmoove_12 We really don’t like bringing you news you don’t want to hear, but the TabPRO 8.4 will not be getting Lollipop. ^ES

Obviously, the tablet is no longer supported, which means the owner and the ones who have the same gadget will have to make do with the Android 4.4 Kitkat. Unfortunately, it will not be blessed with any Android OS update, which makes owners of the Samsung Tab S 8.4 pretty lucky as they still have the chance to land an Android Lollipop update.
Take note, however, that this bit covers only the Samsung Galaxy TabPro 8.4, which is over in the UK.
Though such developments would normally apply globally, there is a slim ray of hope that other Samsung global retailers could release one. However, with such a slim chance, it may be wise not to get your expectations too high.
It is evident that compared to Apple, Android updates for Samsung tablets seem to be as scarce as they come, as pointed out by Phandroid. With that in mind, it remains to be seen if the inability or oversight on delivering Android updates on Samsung tablets could make customers think twice before getting an Android-run tablet in the market.
Then again, there are some who couldn't care less about getting an Android bump, as long as the tablet is serving its purpose. Nevertheless, seeing new features will always be welcome for anyone who wants to make the most out of them.
Custom ROMS could be developed, but as always, it would be best for the technically inclined ones to take it. If you dare go this route, make sure your device is backed up before proceeding.
