Samsung continues to unveil one device after the other lately and the latest addition to its long list of devices is the Samsung Galaxy A9 (SM-A9000).

The device was recently spotted over at Geekbench, something that is expected to debut in 2016 alongside another highly awaited device in the Samsung Galaxy S7.

This will be the newest member on Samsung’s A-Series, a sane powered device that is highlighted by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor together with 3 GB of RAM.

The device underwent testing, a single-core test and a multi-core test. According to Phone Arena, the Samsung Galaxy A9 passed both tests with flying colors which seems to be helped a bit with the fact that the said device comes packed with improved internal specs as well.

Taking a look at its specs and aside from the Snapdragon 620 processor and 3 GB of RAM, the Galaxy A9 also comes with four Cortex-A72 cores (clocked at 1.8 GHz) and four Cortex A-53 processors (clocked at 1.4 GHz).

For the record, it would be wise not to take the Snapdragon 620 processors lightly. They are touted to be the first processors in the 600 series that boast of 4K video recording capability so it is likewise expected to be one of the main reasons why this device is considered one of the more powerful mid-range phones to watch out for next year.

Then there is the 3 GB of RAM included which are equally daunting. This is the same RAM count that one would find on Samsung’s high-end devices –the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

It will be interesting if Samsung antes up the bunch with features that will comprise its official form factor. Yet to be seen is the camera, storage capacity, battery and so on.

From the looks of it, the Galaxy A9 could be a mid-range device taken to the extreme, possibly even drawing it close to a high-end device if the appealing features continue to build up.

With regards to the Android operating system it will come out with, the word out from tbreak.com is that it will come with an Android 5.1.1. Lollipop.

Though not a big deal, Samsung could have at least considered arming it with Android 6.0 Marshmallow already rather than let customers wait for an update to be made available. Then again, for something that has somehow already offered a lot, it may be wise not to push one's luck.
