Moto G 2nd Gen, Nexus 6 Getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Soon! [Release Date, Features & Download]

Google is on track to bringing Android 6.0 Marshmallow to a large portion of Android devices.

In recent events, it seems that the second generation of Moto G as well as T-Mobile's Nexus 6 is next on the list.

As previously reported by Latinos Post, the final phase of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow soak test for Moto G (2014) has already started with various users who are members of the Motorola Feedback Network being the first to try the Marshmallow.

However, the 461 MB update which will upgrade the device's Android Lollipop 5.0.2 to the Marshmallow is not yet the actual update for all users of the Moto G second generation. The "Soak test" was used by Motorola to test the update to real owners. Hence, necessary adjustments might still be made if problems occur.

Nonetheless, since it is the final phase of the soak test, Moto G (2014) users can expect to get their hands on the Marshmallow in the coming weeks, assuming that all goes well.

Meanwhile, besides Moto G (2014), it is also reported that T-Mobile's Nexus 6 will receive the Marshmallow update.

In a tweet sent out by T-Mobile's Des Smith, he confirmed that the Marshmallow software version MRA58X will be coming for their Nexus 6 after gaining the necessary approval.

According to the report by Phone Arena, the Android 6.0 update for T-Mobile's Nexus 6 has been delayed due to the fact that the said carrier wants to make sure that the software will support their LTE Band 12 and Wi-Fi Calling.

The report cited that T-Mobile was pushing the use of its Band 12 for the operator's "Extended LTE Range" that will enable signals travel farther and go through buildings and structures better. Meanwhile, Wi-Fi calling enables users to make calls via Wi-Fi pipeline- a feature applicable for those in areas which have weak T-Mobile signals.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow boasts features such as Google Now on Tap, which analyzes the contents on the user's screen and delivers relevant information and apps based on the user's need. Additionally, Marshmallow also brings Doze and App Standby that enables the device battery life last longer.

The Marshmallow also brings to users greater control and better security with App Permissions - which allows the user to "define" what they want to share and when -- as well as Fingerprint scanning.
