Ubisoft announced that an open beta for “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege” will happen on Nov. 25, 2015 and will continue to run until Nov. 29. The game publisher added that the beta test will be open to all PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC gamers.
Previously, Ubisoft provided details on what would be included in the “Rainbow Six Siege” Season Pass. IGN cited that the pass would include early access to post-launch operators, a permanent boost that lets players unlock content faster than regular players, and exclusive weapon skins.
Games Radar stfated that those who played the “Siege” closed beta earlier in 2015 can move into the open beta one day in advance, or on Nov. 24. Interested players can begin pre-loading the version for free on Nov. 23 by visiting the official US and UK websites.
The open beta will feature three maps, each arriving with day and night models. There will also be three game modes, namely Bomb and Secure Area in PvP, and Disarm Bomb in PvE Terrorist Hunt. The open beta will have 14 out of the 20 initial characters of the title, with each showcasing their special abilities to reinforce rooms or to burst into these. Whatever progress open beta testers will gain during the period will not be carried over into the full game when it releases, however.
“Rainbow Six Siege” is a team-based first-person shooter game. It is unique compared to other shooter games because of its destructive environments. Players have to communicate and create strategies to finish levels. The three maps in the beta version are Kanal, House and Hereford. House seems to be situated in the middle of suburbia. Kanal features an industrial complex, while Hereford appears like an outpost in a wooded area. The Disarm Bomb mode will let as many as five players to disable bombs managed by the game. The Bomb and Secure Area modes can involve as many as 10 players. Two teams have to be formed for different purposes. There will be 14 operators and five unique reserves, GottaBeMobile cited.
“Rainbow Six Siege” will officially launch on Dec. 1, 2015. Pre-ordering is already available at selected sites. Players do not have to acquire the “Rainbow Six Siege” Season Pass to acquire new maps, since these will all be available for free. The download size of the open beta is unconfirmed, but players are recommended to pre-load early instead of waiting until the release date comes.
