NBA 2K16 has barely gotten its feet wet and yet now there is word that 2K sports is moving forward and already mapping out plans for NBA 2K17.

This bit will be of course welcome to the avid gamer considering many will be eager to see what the next installment brings.

Then again, it does somehow cast a dark shadow that game developers may end up focusing their attention on NBA 2K17 rather than work on the present game version which has its share of bugs and issues that need to be addressed.

Make no mistake about it, NBA 2K16 is a good game with improved presentation and quality. Everyone knows the amount of work put into it by the game development team but as in any game, there are still some chinks that need to be worked out.

At the moment, a third major patch is set for release soon and it will reportedly touch on some of the game’s balance such as blocking. Apparently this is one aspect that has drawn a lot of criticism from gamers as of late and hopefully such will be addressed once the patch is out.

It remains to be seen of course if other issues will be addressed on possible future patches. But the fact remains, NBA 2K16 still needs the attention of the game developers before moving on to the next installment with those complaints in tow.

Locker codes are most likely to be included in the next patch which could come out in the following weeks, something that should keep things afloat for the game before transitioning to next year’s game offering.

Assuming that 2K Sports has reached that point where they have done all that they can to address the bugs associated with NBA 2K16, it is only then perhaps that game developers can start to lend an ear on what the gamers have to say.

A lot of those suggestions can be found on message board, ranging from reasonable to insane suggestions which of course 2K Sports will take note off. But then again, it is all about using the realistic pitches rather than the wishful and out of this world suggestions that has a chance of being adopted to NBA 2K17.

Regardless, the issue at hand should be limited to NBA 2K16 for the meantime. Patch 3 is expected to be out in the next two weeks for the PS4 and Xbox One version which has hopefully successfully addressed the gameplay issues.
