Nintendo, once again, has given its Pokemon fans a nice treat.
During its Nintendo Direct, the company announced that it will be bringing "Pokemon Red", "Blue," and "Yellow" to its gaming console Nintendo 3DS.
According to the report by IGN, the game, which was playable in Game Boy, will be available as Digital Downloads in the Nintendo eShop.
The IGN report added that the games will be available on February 27, 2016, the same day the original Japanese version of Red and Blue was released 20 years ago.
Meanwhile, in the report by Game Rant, it mentioned that the "Pokemon" games will remain the same when released in 3DS with only one notable change -- the removal of the link cable to trade Pokemons.
Furthermore, the release emphasized that since the 3DS has no capability to use link cables which is the primarily used component to exchanging the Pocket Monsters, Nintendo instead, will be using wireless connection to do so.
The Nintendo Direct event, however, did not provide any detail regarding price or price range of the 3DS versions of the games when released.
As mentioned in the Game Rant release, Nintendo's move to bring the game in 3DS is a great choice given the games' popularity as well as its established community of followers. Not to mention that the game brings a "sense of nostalgia" and holds a very special place among "Pokemon" fans.
The gaming news outlet, however, pointed that it is confusing why it is only now that Nintendo decided to bring games such as the aforementioned "Pokemon" versions to its 3DS console despite its strong following.
Nonetheless, with this announcement, Nintendo is perhaps, looking to strengthen and re-establish its "Pokemon" franchise in order to possibly make a splash come this 2016 where it has a strong roster of "Pokemon" games in the line-up.
The highly anticipated and greatly hyped mobile game "Pokemon Go" that will bring Pokemon Catching in real life is already set to be released in the spring of 2016 with finances all tied-up and the game already in its developmental phase.
There is also the 2016 Wii U release of "Pokken Tournament" which will be featuring all-time favorite Pokemon such as Blaziken, Pikachu and its Pikachu Libre version, as well as the new Dark Mewtwo which just made its debut recently.
