'GTA 6' Bound For 2019 Release? [Gameplay, Rumors & Everything We Know So Far]

There are rumors that “Grand Theft Auto 6” by Rockstar Games will be launched in 2019. The game developer is said to be preparing for opportunities to further expand the storyline.

“Grand Theft Auto V” was launched in September 2013 and was a huge hit among gamers. Since then, people have been asking for the sequel. So far, many of the speculations only consisted of hoaxes and fan concepts.

Christian Post wrote that “GTA 6” may feature a female lead, which will set the trend for the entire franchise. In 2013, Dan House of Rockstar Games stated that they could create a game with a lead female character in the future. They have not found the right game for their plan, but they are certainly considering the possibility. Finding the right title with the proper themes could lead to fantastic results, House said.

Venture Capital Post noted that aside from having a female lead character, there are rumors that the next game will involve famous Hollywood actors like Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes. Rockstar Games have been eyeing on casting potential female characters. Gosling’s involvement is said to fuse the “GTA” franchise with other big titles such as “Red Dead Redemption,” Master Herald noted. Also, the map for “GTA 6” is said to include the whole United States, done in a convenient and smooth approach that will bring the plot to new grounds.

A Reddit user stated that the map for “GTA 6” will be quite unique, since it will combine all the GTA maps into a single consistent world map. San Andreas is rumored to be found in the southwest area, while Las Venturas will be located in San Andreas territory. San Fiero will replace San Francisco, near the northern part of San Andreas. Master Herald wrote that Leslie Benzies, head of Rockstar Games, also stated that the development team will initially delve on the creation of a functional gameplay map before moving on to the plot and missions.

There is no definite launch date for “Grand Theft Auto 6,” but it is rumored that 2019 may be the earliest time for it to become available. In the meantime, Rockstar Games is still heavily involved in “GTA V.” The company seems to be capitalizing on the steady popularity of the open-world game by featuring new DLCs and updates regularly.
