Anticipation for the M10 is understandable as the One M9 was considered by a number of fans as a disappointment. Will HTC make amends with the upcoming iteration? And will it be good enough to give Samsung a run for its money?
The M9 was pretty much a re-spun M8 as "the design was almost identical, the screen had the same size and resolution, only the rear camera has been upgraded and a new processor was used," Neurogadget observed.
However, the newer model, said to be slated for a 2016 release as the company wants to make sure it's not doing an encore of its mistake, will be "most likely come with the Snapdragon 820 processor, which won't heat up badly likewise the 810 model."
"Plus, it will be 35 percent faster and will be backed by 4GB of RAM," the site added.
The M10's display is rumored to be a 6 incher, and will have a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, with a 20.7 MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie snapper. The battery will be an impressive 3,500mAh and will be capable of wireless charging. The M9's successor will also reportedly come in two variants - 64 GB and 128 GB.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S7, while not yet announced or confirmed by the South Korean tech giant, has been rumored to be sporting a new camera - the one found in Sony's Xperia Z5 series, according to Tech Radar.
"Reports suggest Samsung is so impressed by the IMX300 sensor in the Xperia Z5 that it wants to include it in the Galaxy S7 camera," the tech news source said.
"Samsung won't ditch the ISOCELL, though. It may include different sensors in different regions and different models of the phone, much like the processor setup on previous Galaxy handsets," it added.
Galaxy S6 has a 16MP sensor, while the Z5 series has a 23MP sensor.
The S7, along with the S7 Edge, have been also rumored to be set for a January 2016 release and will have AMOLED displays, and perhaps "3D Touch-like technology," Tech Times noted.
"It is also rumored that Samsung will release the Galaxy S7 with three variants of processors: Exynos 8890 (Asia and Europe), Exynos 7422 (India) and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (North America), which will be backed by 3GB or 4GB of RAM," Neurogadget said. "The Exynos 8890 was already spotted in Geekbench benchmarks and the Snapdragon 820 appeared in AnTuTu's database."
Further, the S7 will reportedly have a 5.2-inch display, as well as a larger 5.7-inch model.
