Square Enix is finally releasing the next installment in its popular "Kingdom Hearts" franchise. As the release date slowly approaches, more and more information isbeing released.
According to Gamespot, the official release date for the game is going to be Nov. 3, 2015. The game will see several new characters and worlds that will be introduced to the game.
Movieplot reports that one of the biggest additions to the game will be the world of Big Hero 6. Walt Disney Animation Studios producer Roy Conli stated that the worlds of "Big Hero 6" and "Kingdom Hearts" work very well together. Conli states that the two worlds have a lot of overlapping themes that will make for a better game. According to Conli, friendship, as well as a struggle in balancing light and dark, are some of these themes.
"Big Hero 6" isn't the only new world rumoured to be in the new game. Rumors have cited the Tangled world as well as the world and characters from their hit film "Frozen."
Gameplaywise, it seems that there will be a lot of different new abilities players will get to be able to do. The previous "Kingdom Heart" games had simple attack and magic abilities, which players were able to customize to their liking. However, now, it seems that players will get to change the configuration of the keyblade. Through the trailer from E 2015, players were shown exactly what the new keyblade is able to do.
Also returning to the game are video game and cartoon legends Goofy and Donald Duck. For fans of the franchise, it's nice to know that the support characters for the hero will remain the same. However, the interaction between the two characters is bound to change.
Thus far, Square hasn't really revealed much storywise, but Bill Farmer, who voiced several characters in the previous installments, has confirmed that he will be returning to voice several old and new characters in "Kingdom Hearts 3." Farmer said he wasn't allowed to divulge which new characters he would be voicing, but he did reveal he will be returning as the voice of Goofy.
As for the hero of the game, it hasn't been revealed who it is going to be as of yet. Yet many believe that Mickey will make another cameo.
