The "Trials of Osiris" of "Destiny: The Taken King" has returned. However, video game developer Bungie has a surprise for all "Destiny" guardians out there.
In the recent weekly update by Bungie, the game's Senior Designer Derek Carroll hinted that players can expect a strong endgame gear reward that will drop "into the end-of-match stream."
"With greater risk will come even greater reward. For those of you who can go the distance, we'll be dropping endgame gear that will rival the Light of those Guardians who have been defeating Oryx in King's Fall Hard Mode," Carroll mentioned in the update.
A Game Rant report revealed that the reward of the PvP event will likely be at 310 to 320 Light given that it was compared to the equipment used in taking down Oryx in the hard mode version of the "King's Fall" raid.
The gaming news outlet, however, cited that a difference on the "level of success" may become a factor that would determine the quality of the gear that the players will obtain.
Aside from this new system that gives a new breath on the highly ridiculed loot system of the game, Bethesda has also made many important tweaks in "Trials of Osiris" that they detailed in the update.
One important aspect of the game that was addressed was on the matchmaking system which Carroll pointed to make the competition fiercer. Hence, those players gunning for the Lighthouse will be facing players that are likely on the same or near their level.
"With the changes we've made to matchmaking, there will be a greater chance that the other team will be on the same rung as the ladder as you, making your climb to 9-0 much more meaningful, and those last few matches much more fun for everyone," Carroll added.
Moreover, the game was redesigned to make winning teams directly receive their Trials gear rewards at the end-of-match completion and undefeated players be continuously be invited in the Lighthouse.
Along with its selling of Trials gear, the event's Brother Vance will also be having bounties which will reward players Legendary Marks that are required in purchasing gears from Lord Saladin.
Players can also take on and finish Crucible Bounties in the event.
"Trials of Osiris" requires a character to be at level 40 with a minimum Light of 250 with a suggested 290 Light. The event is released October 30, 2015 and is already available.
"Destiny: The Taken King" is also out and can be played PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
