Microsoft did finally unveil its much awaited Surface Book just recently but it seems that its grand debut has been snagged by some bugs and problems.
Users who were able to get hold of the pricey notebook have been complaining of sudden freezes together with some bugs to go.
The problem has yet to be addressed though the Microsoft team is already reportedly on it. There are some who suspect that the issue may have something to do with a recently released hardware update, the KB3097617.
The said update was meant to provide support for Windows Hello technology which was initially disabled on review units. An update is expected to be released by Microsoft soon and once they do officially reveal such, Surface Book owners are advised to immediately apply the said patch.
But it seems that there are other glitches being reported on the Surface Book as well.
After the initial setup, downloading of apps and updates ensue. It seems that the process would require a reboot for the said apps and updates to be applied the proper way.
The Surface Book boasts of an incredibly good visual display but some have reported screen flickering when Hyper-V virtualization is enabled.
There are some who claim as well that the clipboard cannot be detached or detected as well. This somehow rounds up the growing list of issues that the Surface Book carries which Microsoft will hopefully address as soon as possible.
On the other hand, it seems that the Surface Pro 4 has close to none problems thus far. The only complaint being heard of right now is that one involving a purple screen tint when users scroll through the tablet.
The two devices are Microsoft’s ticket to try and give Apple some serious competition in the tablets and notebook niche. But these latest bugs and glitches are certainly something that could harm it from prospering unless Microsoft is able to come up with a resolution fast.
On whether these setbacks may affect the growing demand for the hard-to-find Surface Book remains to be seen with most people apparently interested in seeing what makes these new Microsoft products a hot commodity.
It seems that of the two, only the Surface Pro 4 (i5 variant) is readily available though most are looking for the i7 version.
Seeing the large demand for these new products, will the alleged bugs and glitches affect the demand? Right now the issue is mounting and as mentioned earlier, the best thing for Microsoft to do right now is address the glitch before more people start racking in their complaints.
