The Google-branded LG Nexus 4 is one of the hottest smartphones out on the market at the moment. With an affordable price tag and impressive specs, the smartphone has been selling like hotcakes for Google, and if you haven't already ordered one, here's some bad news: it looks like the 8GB model is sold out again through Google Play.
It wasn't too long ago that the Google Play store reopened Nexus 4 orders, and ship times quickly jumped up 9 weeks. This meant buyers would basically have to wait until next year before their Nexus 4 arrived. Google Play now simply reads "Sold Out" for the $299.99 8GB model.
There is no indication when Google will begin taking orders again, and Google Play merely reads, "We are out of inventory. Please check back soon."
There is some good news, however. The 16GB Nexus 4 variant is still available for purchase through Google Play at the price of $349.99. The shipping time is listed as being 5-6 weeks.
T-Mobile also sells the 16GB Nexus 4 for $199.99 with a two-year contract, but the T-Mobile online store states that the handset is currently out of stock.
Other than those two options, consumers hungry for the Nexus 4 will have to purchase the smartphone via third-party retailers, who will undoubtedly charge more. Still, the handset is worth seeking, as it offers features that no other Android smartphone does.
Since the Nexus 4 is a Google-branded device, the handset will always up to date on its Android version until Google drops support for the device. The Nexus 4 currently runs Android 4.2, the latest version of Android, while many devices around the world are still playing catch up to Jelly Bean.
The handset's price is also appealing, as the Nexus 4 comes unlocked, meaning buyers don't have necessarily have to get saddled into a wireless contract just for a reasonable price on a phone.
Let us know if you were able to get your hands on the Nexus 4 and what you think of it.
