Samsung Galaxy S7 Launching in 2 Variants in January? [Release Date, Specs, Features & Rumors]

Samsung Galaxy enthusiasts may have to consider buying two S7's next year.

Following the same strategy that saw them through the launch of their flagship devices, Samsung is rumoured to have moved the launch of Samsung Galaxy S7 to an earlier date than the planned February 2016 launch. According to a report by Forbes, the Korean tech giant hopes to make the Galaxy S7 publicly available by mid-January -- remarkably close to the upcoming Mobile World Congress.

Tech website Value Walk reports that the newest Galaxy S7 may be offered in two models, differing in screen dimensions (a 5.2 inch and a 5.7 inch) and based on the buzz abound in Korean media  this is one of the rumours that might actually prove to be true in January. The same report suggests that one of the S7's will sport a dual-edge display while the other one is believed to be featuring a flat screen and both versions are to be released simultaneously -- probably in an effort to outsell their main competitor, the iPhone 6s.

Technically speaking, though, three mobile devices may be on the stands for consumers January of next year as the 5.2 inch model is supposed to be available in a flat and curved panel while the 5.7 inch device will possibly be featuring "dual-edge," according to the same report.  For phablet aficionados, this will be a treat as Samsung is known for its impeccable screen technology which started in its range of television sets.

There have been online debates on the specs for the newest Samsung Galaxy S series but the reigning opinions believe the device to run on the Exynos which is the same processor as the previous models. More reason to be psyched though because there will be an  upgrade to the "8990" version from the S6's "7420." Coupled with a 4GB of RAM memory, the Galaxy S7 is expected to run spectacularly - doubling the processing performance of the Galaxy S6 -- should the rumours be realized.

The Galaxy S7 might spar with the iPhone 6s next year in terms of camera technology as there have been murmurings that it will sport 20 megapixels camera capacity. With this supposed upgrade, Apple might want to consider rethinking the iPhone's camera feature. In a probable move to keep up with its main "nemesis'" mobile technology, Samsung is reported to be incorporating a ClearForce display, and a USB Type-C into its latest Galaxy S release -- a feature already found in Apple MacBooks, as told by Value Walk.

With the terrible sales of the previous Galaxy S phones, Samsung could certainly use this upcoming launch to recover from their most recent mobile failure.
