Has Samsung taken a page out of Oppo’s design niche?

Well if these photos are accurate, such could be the case. And if so, it may come out with the Samsung Galaxy A9 which had recently undergone a benchmark test.

Now that stands to be something new as far as the roster of devices Samsung has been offering, not to mention that it looks like the Samsung Galaxy A9 may also have some speakers at the bottom front face of the device as well (based on the photos).

Traditionally, Samsung has offered devices with the usual fixed camera location at the back and standard front-facing camera for video calls and selfies. So will the rotating cameras save folks the trouble with just one camera with potentially better resolution?

Rotating cameras have been closely identified with Oppo and Gionee until now.

Oppo revealed that rotating camera feature way back in 2013 when the Oppo N1 came out in the open. That was a 13MP rotating shooter which could rotate 206 degrees which in all served as a single camera addressing the usual front and rear cameras most phones have to date.

Gionee on the other hand released a phone of its own with the Elife E7. It was also a 13MP swiveling camera that was also the highlight of the form-factor phone/phablet.

Given the advent of rotating cameras and Samsung possible following as well, could we be seeing the end of the front-facing cameras soon?

Well first of all, these pictures are leaks and the fact that the company has yet to officially announce the Samsung Galaxy A9 should cut down the excitement for now.

Like most information surrounding the Samsung Galaxy A9, these account for rumors as well. Aside from the said photos (courtesy of Mobile-Dad), there are other key features roaming around to consider.

That includes the device toting a 5.5-inch screen (1080x1920 resolution), backed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 SoC with an octa-core clocked at 1.8 GHz, an Andreno 510 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Per rumors as well, the Samsung Galaxy A9 will come with Android 5.1 GHz out of the box.

From the looks of it, the Samsung Galaxy A9 stands to be another interesting mid-range phone up for grabs with the rotating camera as the highlight for it. Since the device is still unannounced and on the shelf, there is no word of course on pricing.

Would that rotating camera (if true) cut down or add more cost to the whole manufacturing binge though?

Either way, it does look like a big design bump for Samsung and hopefully the photo leaks will be confirmed at some point in the future.
