Verizon Android updates  are notoriously slow to roll out in the United States. In fact only the Galaxy Nexus and DROID RAZR M have received an Android Jelly Bean upgrade so far. Recently, however, Verizon announced that two more  Motorola phones would be getting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as early as next week.

The two Motorola phones set to receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean are the DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX HD. The update will begin rolling out in early December in phases, according to the official Verizon press release. The DROID RAZR M began receiving Jelly Bean back on Nov. 9.

DROID users will get an OTA update, or can manually download the update by going to the Settings page and selecting System Updates.

The Verizon update will be to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Google has already released Android 4.2 on its Nexus-branded devices such as the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10.

This will mean that Verizon will have released a Jelly Bean update for four of its smartphones. Newer releases such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and HTC Droid DNA already come with Jelly Bean right out of the box. As of now, there is no official news on Jelly Bean for the popular Galaxy S3, although there have been leaked ROMS that indicate Verizon is close to polishing up the build.

In other Jelly Bean news, Samsung Germany announced on Facebook that the Galaxy S Advance model GT-I9070 would be receiving Android 4.1.2 in January.
