Happy snapping photo enthusiasts who have been amazed with the GoPro line of cameras are eagerly awaiting the GoPro Hero 5 though the debut of the next flagship camera will still be in 2016.
With the growing number of people wanting better shots on the outdoors, this is one sports camera that will be worth the wait. Among them include the rumored enhanced waterproof capability not to mention a massive 8K display to go.
While the waterproof capabilities are nothing new, seeing most people loving how the camera has allowed them to capture shots under water, it is the big bump in resolution that should be pretty interesting. It can perform up to 60 meters underwater and even comes with a dive housing which should make it easier for users to carry and use.
4K resolution has been a big help to the people who have been placing premium in capturing quality shots over 1080p, seeing that the details and quality are clearer, one can just imagine the level of rendering that an 8K display would offer.
Converting for instance an 8K video to 4K would mean smoother and crisper videos since the pixels are compressed to deliver better shots.
Combined with a 60 fps, the GoPro Hero 5 is certainly a sports camera to wish for. And if you think that photo-capturing prowess is something, there is more to the sports cam as far as features are concerned.
Providing ample backup to all that flak about resolution is an A10 processor which should account for the ability of the camera to take 4K resolutions at 60 fps as well as a dual lens setup which should account for better 3D images and videos, especially in underwater instances.
With that high resolution concerns on the battery life should come next. However it seems that GoPro has addressed that as well with an alleged improved 2,800 mAh battery pack.
The GoPro Hero 5 will also reportedly be lighter than its predecessor, about 40% lighter and 50% smaller. This means that it should be easily fitted into wherever owners could eventually decide, including helmets, their body or maybe even the bike handles for people who frequent the outdoors.
For now, there is no official word on how much the GoPro Hero 5 would be retailing though it is believed that the price range will most likely play along the $550 mark.
The price could be a bit expensive for some folks but seeing the big difference in specs should more or less account for the bump in pricing.
