The upcoming game “Far Cry: Primal” is rumored to be the most interesting entry in the shooter series. In fact, some say that it might be the best version that game developer Ubisoft might have come up with in the franchise yet.

VG247 reported that compared to the previous installations of the series, “Far Cry: Primal” has a completely unique take and setting.

A reveal trailer was released by Ubisoft to give fans a first look on the characters, details and scenarios to expect in the game. The video lasted almost 7 minutes, initially showing prehistoric men with face paint building their crude hunting tools and weapons. “Far Cry Primal” will bring players to the Stone Age to take on the role of Takkar, an ancient hunter. Players will venture through caves, plains, mountains and forests, hunting prehistoric giants like wooly mammoths and sabretooth tigers. Takkar was featured making new weapons and equipment from bone, hide and everything else that his environment naturally provided.

Design&Trend revealed that “Far Cry Primal” will present a captivating story campaign, where Takkar begins his adventure as the only survivor of a devastating attack against his hunting group. The character is on a mission to look for new allies and rebuild his group, at the same time searching for ways to survive the harsh outdoor elements and dangers that beasts and hostile men pose.

“The Stone Age is the perfect setting for a Far Cry game. Far Cry usually puts you at the edge of the known world, in a beautiful, lawless and savage frontier.” said Jean-Christophe Guyot, creative director at Ubisoft.

Guyot added that the Stone Age, is in a way, the very first frontier for humankind. He said that it was the time when humans discovered several things about his surroundings, started to go up the food chain and claimed land as their own.

Instead of guns, rocket launchers and other modern devices, players in “Far Cry Primal” will have to work with arrows, spears and other crude tools to survive and overcome dangerous animals. They also have to work with tribe members since they will not have the firepower to take down prehistoric beasts alone. The game will indeed be the most unique take in the series, and gamers will soon discover whether it is the best.

“Far Cry Primal” is set to launch on Feb. 23, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC version of the game will release in March 2016.
