"Until Dawn" will definitely see another day.

Due to the success of the video game "Until Dawn," it is understandable why the British video game developer Supermassive Games is considering a sequel for their survival horror game franchise.

In an interview by PlayStation Lifestyle, Executive Producer Pete Samuels has confirmed that there are indeed talks regarding the development of "Until Dawn 2."

"We do talk internally about what Until Dawn 2 could be, as it clearly can't be a sequel in the traditional sense, with the same characters facing the same threat, not least of which because in different stories some or all of them are already dead! We've investigated other ways we could do Until Dawn 2," Samuels explained in the interview with PlayStation Lifestyle.

Nonetheless, Samuels emphasized that it is still too early to discuss about the sequel of the game given that it was just released roughly two months ago. However, he is quick to cite that they are building games based on what they have established with "Until Dawn" but on a different genre.

The producer even hinted that they are currently in the works on a game that was inspired by their development of "until Dawn."

"We're already working on one thing that does that, whilst exploring other avenues for our other teams in anticipation of them finishing their current projects," Samuels furthered in the interview.

In the release by Game Rant, the site mentioned that the financial success of the game being one of the top selling video game of August 2015 would definitely warrant a sequel. However, the gaming news outlet pointed that developing the sequel will be a tough nut to crack for Supermassive games especially on the character aspect.

Hence, the game news site suggested that an anthology series that will follow new characters and new style of horror will be better as it will fit the excellent narrative style and storytelling aspect of the hit video game.

"Until Dawn" is an "interactive drama survival horror adventure game" that is designed to be played "multiple times." Popular for its movie-like game play, the game follows a group of eight friends trapped on a remote mountain. Integrated with an in-game system called "Butterfly Effect," the game's gameplay relies on the decisions that a player makes for each character. Hence, through the game, the choices that the players make will lead to a "unique" story that will even decide who will die and survive on the game.
