‘GTA’ Games on Sale! Check Them Out Here!

"Grand Theft Auto" has been one of the most groundbreaking, controversial series ever since the series debuted back in 1997. Now fans of the older titles in the long-running franchise can download them on their android and iPhones.

According to Phone Arena, several of the older GTA titles including "GTA III," "GTA: Vice City," "GTA: Chinatown Wars," and "GTA: San Andreas" are not only available but are on sale on Google Play and the iStore. With this ongoing sale, "GTA III," "GTA: Vice City," and "GTA: Chinatown Wars" are all neatly priced at USD $2.99 while "GTA: San Andreas" is on sale for USD $4.99.

Each of the games bring its own brand of uniqueness to gamers. While most of the games premiered on the PlayStation 2 home console, "GTA: China Wars" debuted on the PlayStation Portable, yet the series developer Rockstar Games assures gamers that the gaming experience will not diminish on mobile devices.

Gamers, however, have already expressed their concerns with the games. According to Yahoo, while the touch screen controls might be suitable with the older games such as "GTA III" or the throwback game like "GTA: Chinatown Wars," the controls suffer when playing "GTA: San Andreas" which has a larger and more drawn out sandbox type world.

However, the controls may be the only thing that players might have a problem with when playing the older titles. Graphics-wise, the games look impressively like their PlayStation 2 counterparts with little or no lag time. Even the heavier graphics of "GTA: San Andreas" shouldn't be a problem with later model iPhones or android devices.

The oldest of the GTA games available, "GTA III," takes place in Liberty City, a fictional New York-esque location. It is considered the game that skyrocketed the series to where it is today. "GTA III" was the first to go away from the top-down level design in favor of a 3D sandbox environment where the players can do more than car jacking and petty crimes. While the game does have those elements, this was the first time that the series incorporated an in-depth story and started off the trend that each Grand Theft Auto game takes place in a different city.

Many critics have even gone on to say that "GTA III" changed the face of video games up to that point. While many games had a certain amount of violence to them, like "Street Fighter" or "Mortal Kombat," none received the attention like "GTA III" did.
