It's hard to deny that the "Bioshock" series has been one of the most innovative games to come out in recent gaming history. Gamers have loved pretty much everything that has to do with the adventures in the underwater country of Rapture and the above-the-clouds city of Columbia.

Fans of the series should be happy to hear that rumors have spread that a "Bioshock" anthology collection might be in the works for the series and might even be available as early as November 2015. According to Game Rant, the South African retailer Raru has begun taking pre-orders for the collection, which, according to their website, has been tagged for aNovember 27, 2015 release.

However, this could all be speculation at this point as gaming sites get release dates wrong quite frequently. Raru does, however, have a knack for releasing game release information earlier than developers would like. Just this year, the retailer successfully announced and confirmed the production of "Greninja," "Jigglypuff" and "Splatoon Amiibos."

Fans of the series are stating that the game's re-release and future titles might be in jeopardy as the original developer of the series, Irrational Games, has in fact shut down. However, the publisher of the series, 2k games, has confirmed that a sequel for "Bioshock" is currently in the works.

IGN reports that they have reached out to 2K with regards to Raru's posting for pre-orders for the "Bioshock Collections" title. The gaming website reports that they have yet to receive any word from 2K on this matter.

The "Bioshock" franchise was one of the sleeper hits of its time. The first game of the series opened with little media attention as it came out during the time of hits such as "Fallout 3" and "Mass Effect." However, the game received several awards as gamers soon found out the unique and complex story line and atmosphere of the game.

The first two games of the series places players in the fictional country of Rapture. The timeline of the games is during the Cold War, in which Russia and the United States faced off for world domination. Rapture was supposed to be an underwater utopia where residents would not have to face the pressures from both sides of the war.

The series then shifted to the airborne city of Columbia for the latest installment of the franchise. All the games dealt with issues of a utopian society gone wrong and the repercussions of the actions of those who created these worlds.

While the release of "Bioshock Collections" is still not confirmed by 2K at this time, it gives gamers a glimpse of hope to return to the worlds they hold so dear.
