Fans are looking forward to the official release of “Mass Effect: Andromeda” in 2016. The fourth installment of the popular game is said to have a juicy action-packed story.
Producer Chris Wynn spent some time answering related questions from users on Twitter. One player asked whether “Mass Effect 4” was going to be the biggest and best because of its excellent and exciting plot. Wynn, responded with a short “yes”, but did not provide more details, Gaming Bolt reported.
iDigital Times revealed that one of the original writers, Drew Karphyshyn, has returned to BioWare to work on more games. Drew is the lead writer of the first “Mass Effect”. According to Karpyshyn’s blog, he spent some time away from the studio to focus on his fantasy novel trilogy, entitled “Chaos Born”. He shared that he is already done with the novels and ready to return to BioWare. The writer did not mention which project he will be working on, but stated that it was not new or unannounced.
"I suspect a lot of folks are going to wonder if this means BioWare is about to announce a new project tied to my return. The short answer: no," said Karpyshyn.
He added, "I originally came to the Austin studio many years ago to work on SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic) and – at least for now – that’s what I’m focusing on again."
On the Web Archive, the BioWare blog stated that Chris Schlerf was the lead writer of “Mass Effect: Andromeda” as of June 15, 2015. Currently Schlerf is reportedly no longer on the team. There is speculation that John Dombrow will become the new lead writer. Dombrow previously worked on “Mass Effect 3” and became known for his interesting takes on the plot and characters.
According to Wynn, no voice actors for “Mass Effect 4” have been cast at the moment. BioWare is already on the search for talented individuals. There will be no returning characters in the new game. Based on the same iDigital Times report, the gameplay of the upcoming installment will be very much the same as its predecessor. However, the gameplay has been reconstructed in the new Frostbite engine. Wynn said that it is also the reason why they needed more time to finish the game. “Mass Effect: Andromeda” will reportedly be more dynamic but have a similar feel overall.
More news and updates on the “Mass Effect 4” story are expected soon.
