Apart from focusing on the software of its current generation console, Xbox One, Microsoft will also provide an upgrade in its hardware with the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller, which will be available this October.
In the Microsoft Store, the device was listed with a release date of Oct. 27, 2015 at a hefty price of $149.99. The said listing, moreover, gives an exclusive offer of getting the controller on the release date by pre-ordering it on or before 2 PM EST of October 23.
According to the report by Game Rant, although there is no official announcement yet from Microsoft that the device will indeed be available in the said date, some retailers like GameStop and Amazon also put the release date of the Xbox One peripheral on October.
In the Xbox website, the upcoming controller is described to adapt to the gamer's "unique style of play" while guaranteeing to let them experience "game-changing accuracy, faster speed, and a tailored feel."
The website further divulged the controller's features which include an ergonomically designed swappable thumbsticks and D-pads that will allow gamers to adjust the device to fit on their hand size and "play style."
Meanwhile, the four slots of interchangeable paddles at the back of the new controller will give the players a better finger control, resulting to an improved accuracy and more efficient control.
Besides boasting the optional Hair Trigger locks that will enable players to fire faster especially on First-Person Shooter (FPS) games, the controller will also give freedom to its users through its customizable button assignments that can be set up using an app available for Xbox One and Windows 10.
Apart from the Elite controller that can also be used for PC, Game Rant shared that Microsoft will also be releasing the Elite Console bundle that will feature the discussed controller and a 1 TB hard drive. The package, however, will come on November 3, 2015, a week later after the release of the Elite controller, and will cost a whopping $499.99.
The Elite controller was first revealed three months ago during the E3 2015. Its launch was part of Microsoft's strategy in order to compete with the likes of Sony's PlayStation 4 and Nintendo's Wii U.
Just recently, Xbox One made multiple announcements regarding major updates on the console's software such as polishing the reputation system, redesigning home, revamping OneGuide, and improving the community section as well as integrating the new Microsoft Edge.
