GoPro Hero 5 to be Released Next Year? [Specs, Features & Rumors]

There are rumors that the GoPro Hero 5 model will finally be released in 2016. Fans are already speculating the new features and capabilities that this hit action camera can offer.

The device is said to have a more compact body, which will conveniently fit most kinds of helmets and attach conveniently to different parts of the body. The device will be easy to carry anywhere and in any activitybecause it will reportedly more lightweight and portable than its predecessor. The GoPro Hero 5’s waterproof capability is also said to have been improved, allowing it to withstand deeper waters.

The company seemed to focus on quality in its latest model. The objective might be to have a more compact action camera that has more power and capabilities, keeping GoPro at the top of the market. Based on the same Master Herald report, shooting underwater will render excellent image quality. Images will be sharp and vibrant despite underwater conditions that could compromise shots. The company also seemed to have placed more emphasis in underwater shooting. The new action camera may be waterproof up to 60 meters deep.

Christian Today wrote that previous rumors cited that the GoPro Hero 5 will have 8K video recording in full HD support. Its predecessor, the GoPro Hero 4 Black, had 4K video recording capability, and a pixel resolution of 3840 x 2160. The new device is expected to have a 4K resolution video with 1080p resolution at 60 fps, 720p at 100 fps and 1440p at 30 fps. Others claimed that the Hero 5 will be lighter and smaller than the Hero 4, which weighs 3.1 ounces.

The company has yet to make an official announcement on the release date and retail price of the new GoPro Hero 5. The GoPro Hero 4 Black currently costs $499.
