Many Pokemon enthusiasts are waiting for news if the "Pokken Tournament," which development is announced last year, will have a home console edition besides the reported arcade release. Now, the wait is finally over.

The Pokemon Company has announced during the Pokemon World Champions held in Boston that the "Pokken Tournament" will be made available worldwide for Wii U in the spring of 2016. Moreover, the company also released on YouTube the official trailer for the Wii U version of the game following the announcement.

According to Game Rant, it still undetermined what features the game will have and how successful the game can be with its Wii U home release. Nonetheless, it pointed that Nintendo may be able to hit another strong title to add to its game production since that Wii U is not new to hosting third-party releases of Nintendo franchises, further citing that Nintendo's 'Hyrule Warriors' game has been a commercial hit and developed a strong fanbase among the Wii U community.

On the other hand, the official video game trailer also provided a glimpse of the game's new character - Pikachu Libre, a mexican-themed wrestler version of Pikachu who wields the same electric capabilities as its predecessor. Game Rant noted that Pikachu Libre has already made its appearance in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, however, unlike in "Pokken Tournament" where Pikachu Libre is an official character, the said character in Ruby and Sapphire serves only as a special Pikachu cosplay which is given to a player during a Pokemon contest.

Game Rant added that the new Pikachu will be joining fan favorite characters which includes Charizard, Weavile, and Gengar that has already been added in previous months. Gardevoir and even Blaziken will also be present in the Pokemon combat game that could possibly give more opportunities for Nintendo to adopt an amiibo support.

The same report also mentioned that the game, which was revealed last August 2014, came in a shocker after it was learned that it will be created by Tekken-developer Bandai Namco who promised that it will play differently from Tekken. The initial release trailer of the game shows a battle between Lucario and Machamp, as well a guaranteed appearance in Japanese arcades. Meanwhile, the report also stated that Dave & Busters would be receiving a number of 'Pokken Tournament' arcade machines in selected US locations.

'Pokken Tournament' will be released in Spring of 2016 but no specific launch date is confirmed. The game will be exclusive for Wii U.
