After the recently concluded Gamescom, video game developer Square Enix released a playable demo for the next instalment of the "Just Cause" franchise.
The "Just Cause 3" demo gave gamers several game modes that will be available in the full version of the game. Gamers who were able to get a turn on these levels stated that they were quite challenging and enjoyable.
According to IGN, the first of these modes is the Sirocco Sky Tour. In this mode, players will be controlling the game's protagonist while wearing a wing-suit. Gamers will need to race against time while maneuvering through a series of colored rings to score points. Players will need to get through the center of each ring to get a higher score. Additional points will be given as well if players do other feats such as flying nearer to the ground.
The next stage show that the players will do one thing: destroy everything in sight. Players are given an RPG missile launcher with infinite rockets. The game will show a small timer with one minute and thirty seconds on it. The timer will not start, however, until the base is completely destroyed. After which, gamers will have to find a satellite dish which takes about eight rockets to take down. Players are to find the dish and take it down before the timer stops.
The last mode shown in the demo is where gamers see the open world of "Just Cause 3." By destroying other bases repeatedly, players will gain a multiplier for their score and gain resources.
Segment Next reports that the director of the game, Roland Lesterlin, covers these three modes of the game during his demonstration of "Just Cause 3."
"Just Cause 3" will take place several years after the events of "Just Cause 2." Players will once again take control of Rico Rodriguez, who has left the Agency and returns to his home country of Medici. Little does Rico know that Medici has been taken over by General Di Ravello, a mad dictator bent on world domination. Rico has to work to stop his plans and save his country.
Similar to "Just Cause 2," the new instalment will be a third-person shooter with an open map gameplay. While the game map is technically the same size as "Just Cause 2," new technology has given gamers the chance to explore the map much more differently than before.
Lesterlin states that the verticle world is just as immersive as the horizontal one. Players will not have the ability to climb certain mountains as well as explore caves and holes in the mountain.
"Just Cause 3" is due out for release in December.
