In less than two years, "No Man's Sky" has moved in the right direction ever since a teaser was released in December 2013. Today, Hello Games' brainchild is one of the most anticipated upcoming open-world video game of 2015.
During the recent Gamescom 2015 in Germany, Hello Games has released a set of screenshots, according to WCCF Tech. The report revealed features of the game which include an open universe for gamers to explore. It added that each planet, creature, landscape, and star is unique.
Earlier, Hello Games' Sean Murray had an interview in the latest issue of Edge, according to Games Radar. When asked what will happen if players ever lose their spaceships, Murray answered that is such a hassle.
"I have this [design] argument with the guys all the time, but if I hand someone the controller, the first thing they'll do is lose their ship. Even in games like Far Cry 4, Dragon Age or The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, which are huge worlds, there are pathways. They want me to go this way to get some plant at the top of a mountain, but I prefer to go this way, and I'll just buggily hop up. We don't have those predefined pathways," said Murray.
This comes to no surprise as the universe in "No Man's Sky" has 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 planets. According to an earlier report from PlayStation Blog, since the game keeps its secrets well hidden, Alex Wiltshire from Hello Games presented gamers a list of facts that will help make "No Man's Sky" come to life. The first fact is the ridiculous number of planets mentioned.
The report divulged that the universe is not random and is governed by reason and mathematics. Another fact stated that "No Man's Sky" is not a Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) game, which allows offline gameplay. Another important aspect is that there is not storyline to follow. Hello Games wants gamers to create their own stories and their own discoveries. Mountains of facts were featured on the blog, which interested gamers might find intriguing.
A video game is as vast as this is sure to peek gamer's interest. Since its reveal at the 2013 VGX game conference and by 2014, "No Man's Sky" was voted by critics as the "Best Original Game" and the "Best Independent Game" at the E3 Conference. Three months ago, a gameplay trailer was released for IGN and now has over one million views.
No official release date for "No Man's Sky" is still revealed at the moment, but keep posted for more future information.
