Playstation All-Stars comes out next week and Sony has already announced the first two downloadable characters to join the fray.
The two characters will be Kat from Gravity Rush and Emmett Graves from Star Hawk. While the news is quite eventful and shows Sony's commitment to expanding its roster, the most important detail is that the new characters will be totally free.
"We're very happy to announce these first two DLC characters will be free to everyone for the first two weeks once they are available for download early next year," wrote Sony Santa Monica's Seth Killian on the PlayStation Blog. "That may sound a little tricky, so let me be clear: once Kat and Emmett are finished, we'll put them up for download. They'll be totally free for two weeks. The only limit is that you have a two-week window to claim the characters. Once you have Kat and Emmett, they are yours forever. That may sound like a lot to remember, so don't worry, we'll be back closer to their release to remind you of all these details."
The interesting note about the announcement is that Killian states that they will only be available for a two week window. The question that naturally arises is whether or not the characters will ever be available thereafter or if Sony is going to start to charge for the characters after the two week window closes.
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale will be released on November 20 in the US for the PS3 and PS Vita.
