The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phablet has released on almost all major national carriers in the United States - all major ones except the biggest one of them all. Verizon customers are still waiting on a concrete release date, but a new report indicates that day shouldn't be too far off.
A report from DroidLife states that demo units of the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 have already started appearing at Best Buy stores. There is still no official release date from Verizon Wireless, but the appearance of demo units means the handset's launch can't be too far off.
The report also states that Best Buy will be pricing a contract-free Verizon Galaxy Note 2 at $799.99, although one has to take into consideration Best Buy jacks up the price on unlocked phones. A close look at Droid Life's photograph featured above confirms that the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 will have the Verizon logo stamped on the home button. The handset will cost $299.99 with a two-year contract.
Verizon's website lists a ship date of November 27 for the Galaxy Note 2, and most reports around the web are speculating that November 29 will be the day the phablet makes its debut on stores' shelves. Verizon tends to make last-minute announcements, so don't expect much more information until a few days before the carrier actually releases the handset. Sadly, this means that Black Friday and Cyber Monday shoppers won't have a chance to grab a Verizon Galaxy Note 2.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is already available through carriers Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and AT&T for $299.99 with a standard two-year contract. T-Mobile customers can also snatch up a Galaxy Note 2, although the handset will cost $369.99 with a two-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate, meaning the upfront cost will be $419.99.
