Research In Motion (RIM) has confirmed the date for the smartphone that can hopefully save the struggling BlackBerry market.
According to RIM, a launch event for the BlackBerry 10 will be set on Jan. 30, 2013. The twist for the event is it will happen "simultaneously" in multiple countries worldwide. The event will feature the new operating system and two smartphones.
"Our team has been working tirelessly to bring our customers innovative features combined with a best in class browser, a rich application ecosystem, and cutting-edge multimedia capabilities," RIM CEO Thorsten Heins said in a statement. "All of this will be integrated into a user experience - the BlackBerry Flow - that is unlike any smartphone on the market today."
In addition to the Flow, there is also the BlackBerry Hub.
The Flow, according to BlackBerry, will offer users a new experience in seamless navigations, including the BlackBerry Hub function. The Hub will feature all calendar events, feeds, messages, and notifications instead of having the user browse around in various locations.
The two new smartphones will have one phone with a touchscreen and another with a physical keyboard.
