When Bethesda announced a special edition of "Fallout 4" that included a Pip-Boy, minds were relatively blown. Geeks and fans alike swarmed the pre-orders that quickly sold out regardless of its high price of $120.
The video game publisher quickly offered some more of the Pip-Boys and sold them out just as quickly. Fans hoped for more but Bethesda just ran out of it.
Game Spot reports that Bethesda's marketing VP, Pete Hines, said that there will be no more Pip-Boys out for the public. The marketing VP also said that this is not a marketing strategy to up the demands as the plant responsible for the toy's production simply refused to make more replicas. This is because the factory is no longer available to make the highly sought after replica.
Hines also stated that the reaction of the fans to "Fallout 4" has been well beyond the company's expectations. According to Tech Times fans of the "Fallout" series are excited to see the next instalment of the franchise ever since the E3 video game convention.
The story of "Fallout 4" has been confirmed to take place in the iconic city of Boston, Massachusetts. Gamers will take control of a survivor of Vault 111, and will emerge from the vault 200 years after the Great War. Trailers of the game have shown that several monuments commonly seen in the Boston area will be shown in some capacity.
Players will be able to see the Paul Revere Monument, the USS Constitution and the Massachusetts State House. However, Bethesda did not get the rights to the famous Fenway Park where the Boston Red Sox play, but rumors have been running around the Internet that the baseball park will be turned into a makeshift city similar to that of Megaton in "Fallout 3."
Bethesda confirmed that the Vault-Tac Assisted Targeting System or VATS will return in "Fallout 4" but with some upgrades. Veterans of the series should be able to pick up the new additions to VATS, while new players will have access to a tutorial mode which will help them get used to the system. As in previous Fallout games, the player will be able to switch from first and third person views.
Pre-orders for "Fallout 4" is due to debut on Nov 10, 2015, and will also include an exclusive poster with their other pre-ordered kits.
